Calling it What it Is: Identifying and Addressing Sexual Violence in Trans/Queer Communities Panel

This roundtable discussion will breakdown the myths of sexual violence in Trans/Queer communities by addressing the ways violence is invisibilized by cis and heteronormative attitudes, norms, and practices. We will facilitate conversations of breaking the stigma of machismo/toxic masculinity, addressing grooming practices of predators, and explicitly naming acts of same gendered violence that have been perceived as "the way things are." Participants will leave with tools on how to provide a warm handoff, how to find competent resources, tools for talking to trans/gender non-conforming survivors, and tips on how to prepare a survivor for uncomfortable questions.
